We learned an awful lot from each other as we toured around the SLO Railroad Historic District this chilly Saturday morning. Rob and Dennis particularly shared firsthand experiences of the sights and sounds in this area, and Gary was loaded with information he and the museum have gathered on the history of the district. http://friends-smvrr.org/130209.html

The Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad met this evening for the first time in its new quarterly format. The meeting was held in Shepard Hall at the Santa Maria Public Library (McClelland Street). We had a great day at the Guadalupe Amtrak Station. People were flowing steadily through the caboose, enjoying the displays in the station, and waiting patiently for the Pacific Surfliners to come through.
